Come and get an African experience in Vancouver with Adanu Habobo and special guests Awal Alhassan (Ghana) and Kurai Mubaiwa (Zimbabwe) plus a 4-piece horn section to liven the mood. Authentic cuisine from Ghana will also be sold  before the event and during intermission, and a licensed bar will be on site. Adanu Habobo is a drum and dance ensemble co-directed by Dr. Kofu Gbolonyo and Curtis Andrews and is comprised of professional and amateurs musicians and dancers of various ethnicities and backgrounds performing traditional dances from Ghana. Awal Alhassan is a traditional dancer from Northern Ghana who is now based in the US. His energy and enthusiasm are remarkable and inviting. Kurai Mubaiwa, a native of Zimbabwe but now living in Vancouver, is one of Canada’s best mbira players. For this event however, he will also be displaying his prowess as a dancer, which he rarely does.
