Caravan World Rhythms and Beats Without Borders, Vancouver’s iconic presenters of live world music and global electronic beats, combine forces to host a rare meeting of the well-travelled and unique innovators in live and electronic fusion, based in Middle-Eastern, Indian, and other global influences. Joining Niyaz and Adham Shaikh on state is Sufi Dervish Tanya Evanson who will contribute to the visual and spiritual dimensions with her mesmerizing whirling dance. The music and message of this gathering of creative souls is aimed at uniting people from different cultural and spiritual backgrounds through our shared humanity. It is a tribute to beauty, diversity, freedom and dignity for all. And of course, great music is on offer for all to dance and listen to their heart’s content.

General Admission tickets are $30 advance / $35 at the door.  $5 discount for students.
VIP Tickets are $46 advance only, and include VIP reserved seating, NIYAZ special-release EP and NIYAZ T-shirt (total $25 value!).

Described by the Huffington Post as “an evolutionary force in contemporary Middle Eastern music, NIYAZ has created a 21st century global trance tradition by seamlessly blending medieval Sufi poetry and folk songs from their native Iran and its surrounding countries in the Persian Gulf, with rich acoustic instrumentation and state-of-the-art modern electronics.

Based in Montreal, NIYAZ was founded in 2004 by captivating vocalist/ composer and two-time JUNO Award nominee Azam Ali, and multi-instrumentalist/ composer and JUNO Award nominee Loga Ramin Torkian. In March 2015, Niyaz released their fourth full-length studio album entitled “The Fourth Light,” a tribute to the first female Sufi mystic and poet Rabia Al Basri who was born in the 8th century in Iraq.

Niyaz is committed to creating music with a deep social message aimed at uniting people from different cultural and religious backgrounds through our shared humanity.

Adham Shaikh is a Emmy and Juno Award-nominated music producer, composer, sound designer, and DJ who brings his uniquely powerful global sounds to the world stage and screen, not to mention many a crowded dance floor.

Shaikh’s work as both a live performer and a DJ has taken him to international festivals, events, and night clubs, including the Waveform Festival (UK), Envision Festival (Costa Rica), Water Women Festival (Ecuador) Samothraki Dance Festival (Greece), headlining sets at The Royal Ontario Museum, Basscoast Festival, Shambhala Festival, Lightning in a Bottle,(ca), Beloved Festival (Or), Symbiosis(ca), Raindance (ca), SonicBloom (co),and much more!
