ZHAMBAI TRIO CD-Release Concert

Vancouver’s own ZHAMBAI TRIO is happy to release their debut full-length CD of traditional and original Zimbabwean music featuring the intriguing mbira, marimba, ngoma and hosho. They will be joined by high-energy electric Afro-fusion group ZIMBAMOTO and very special guests BONGO LOVE (direct from Zimbabwe!) who play their own brand of “Afrocoustics.”

A new trio of wonderful people playing wonderful instruments. Zhambai Trio showcases the mesmerizing side of traditional mbira (thumb piano), marimba and hand drumming songs to give a glimpse of a softer, yet still invigorating, side of African music. The event celebrates the release of their album, “Tambanavo.”
