Caravan World Rhythms presents Indian Classical tabla virtuoso and world music legend Zakir Hussain, making a rare and highly anticipated appearance in Victoria at the prestigious Royal Theatre on April 28, 2024. Zakir will be presenting his new show “TISRA”, in which he will be accompanied by two other maestros of Indian classical music, female bansuri flautist Debopriya Chatterjee and sarangi player Sabir Khan, which promises to make this concert both mesmerizing and unforgettable!

It's a danced musical manifesto for women's freedom, originating from Chad in West Central Africa.

MARYNA KRUT (Ukraine) – Salt Spring Show
Maryna KRUT (pronounced “kroot”) is a Ukrainian singer and virtuoso of the bandura, a stringed instrument unique to Ukraine that looks and sounds like a hybrid of lute and harp. At 28, KRUT is an assured performing artist; her compelling, soulful performances evoke both folk traditions and modern sensibilities, with pop and jazz flourishes. A Eurovision finalist, she often represents Ukraine at official events and performs for soldiers in the current war zone.

A unique double-bill of two innovative and charismatic solo female performers, Maryna KRUT from Ukraine, and Hannah Epperson from BC, Maryna KRUT is a Ukrainian singer and virtuoso of the bandura, a stringed instrument unique to Ukraine ; her compelling, soulful performances evoke both folk traditions and modern sensibilities, with pop and jazz flourishes. Hannah Epperson has been called a neo-classical composer and musician, indie folk/rocker and avant-garde pop artist, whose music with violin, loop pedal, and voice, is unique, haunting, and addictive.
