MOZAICO FLAMENCO – "CAFE DE CHINITAS"

Mozaico Flamenco forms a six-dancer troupe with two of Madrid’s cutting edge flamenco dancers from the most contemporary companies today, Ricardo Lopez and Emilio Ochando. Inspired by the poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca, Café de Chinitas spins the tale of a jealous rivalry between two matador brothers.Flamenco music is joined by haunting Asian melodies of the Orchid Ensemble.

GAMELAN GITA ASMARA – Balinese Music & Dance

Vancouver's GAMELAN GITA ASMARA present their annual spectacular show, featuring over 20 musicians and dancers.This performance will feature the classical dance Legong Kuntul, with guests Keiko Ninomiya, and, direct from Bali, 15-year-old dance prodigy Putu Suci Pramesti; and the powerhouse Wiranjaya, a torpedo of crashing gongs and intense movement. Gita Asmara will introduce Sphinx, choreographed and performed by Justine A. Chambers

MASTERS OF WIND – Indian & Jazz Music

The leading American voice in Indian jazz fusion, saxophonist and composer, George Brooks, Indian bamboo flute master Pt. Ronu Majumdar, a major innovator of Indo-jazz fusion, and tabla maestro Ramdas Palsule come together to create the finest Indian-inspired jazz and jazz flavored raga.

Slivovica Social Club – Balkan Fever!

Join us for the ever popular Slivovica Social Club hosted by Orkestar Slivovica. We will have a special guest Briga from Montreal performing fiery Bulgarian, Macedonian and Serbian music. Briga has recently performed at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, CBC Nooner Stage, and Harrison Arts Festival, and we are lucky to grab the band for this show before they head off to Mission Folk Festival.Plus several other surprise musicians and dancers to entertain!
