Evening in two parts: Afrocuban dance & live Music Performance with Dancer Silfredo la O Vega and Rumba Calzada bnd, followed by Caribbean Dance party with DJ Marc Fournier till late!
AFRO-CUBAN DANCE WORKSHOPS – Silfredo la O
Silfredo is a professional dancer in the Afro-Cuban and Haitian tradition, as well as popular Latin dance and modern.
Experience Africa! ADANU HABOBO & Guests
Come and get an African experience in Vancouver with Adanu Habobo and special guests Awal Alhassan (Ghana) and Kurai Mubaiwa (Zimbabwe) plus a 4-piece horn section to liven the mood. Authentic cuisine from Ghana will also be sold.
KODO DRUMMER ONE EARTH TOUR: MYSTERY
The Kodo Drummers of Japan return to Vancouver with their groundbreaking new program, Kodo One Earth Tour: Mystery. Mystery fuses the dynamism of taiko expression, with the wondrous beauty and true charm that lie within rituals expressing the worship of myriad gods and reverence for nature that have been traditions in Japan since ancient times.
CARAVAN 15TH ANNIVERSARY
Caravan World Rhythms is turning 15 years old. There will be lots of world music friends, Balkan Brass band and flamenco music and performers throughout the night! Come join in the celebration.
GORD GRDINA’S HARAM & VASHAAN PERSIAN ENSEMBLE
A special evening bringing together two of Vancouver's most innovative and captivating world music groups. Opening the night will be the Persian-Sufi Vashaan Ensemble, with special guest Sufi singer Soleyman Vaseghi, The second part of the evening features Gord Grdina's 12-piece powerhouse group HARAM, performing Arabic music, from Iraqi folk to Egyptian radio music, reinterpreted by Vancouver's most creative jazz musicians.
KATARI TAIKO 35TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT
In celebration of its 35th Anniversary, Katari Taiko is presenting a special concert featuring its own contemporary and traditional music and that of guests, Chibi Taiko, Sansho Daiko, Sawagi Taiko and Vancouver Okinawa Taiko.
BOBAN & MARKO MARKOVIC ORKESTAR
The quintessential Balkan brass band has once again captured the mantle of “Leading Band in Serbia,” a title for which they have been crowned many times since the late 1980’s. Their music, performed by a thirteen-piece orchestra, is wholly defined by their own gypsy lineage, whilst giving a knowing nod towards other musical and cultural backgrounds.
LEGENDS OF INDIA: SHAHID PARVEZ & ANINDO CHATTERJEE
Two world renowned Classical Indian musicians make a rare appearance on stage together: sitar maestro Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan and tabla maestro Pandit Anindo Chatterjee. The on-stage chemistry between these musical virtuosos is simply electrifying!

DakhaBrakha is a quartet from Kiev whose sound is at once mesmerizing and mystical, melding soulful Ukrainian folk with the jazz and trance sounds that typify World Music. Opening is Vancouver's Zeellia.

Be prepared to be taken from Vancouver to the Caribbean to West Africa and then back again, featuring the original Trinidadian sounds of Kobo Town from Toronto, and the Fela Kuti-inspired grooves of Vancouver's Kara-Kata Afrobeat.
SHUBHENDRA & SASKIA RAO – Sitar & Cello Duo
The music of Pandit Shubhendra Rao and Saskia Rao-de Haas has been hailed as “taking Indian Music to a brave new era”. New York Times described their music as “movingly meditative”. Together they carry Indian music towards new horizons with their strong belief in the unifying power of music.
